Yes Tado should be the reference, they are miles ahead. It's a shame and disgrace that the Vitodens 2xx/3xx do not have OpenTherm or I wouldn't even have considered buying into Vicare.   Coincidentally I had an in-person meeting yesterday with the Belgian sales representative and product manager for Vicare/Vitodens. Discussing the many flaws present. There where so many more urgent things to fix that the answer I received regarding the timer feature was "too much to ask for at this moment". ... Mehr anzeigen

Annoying, but not really a bug that lost one I think. But as a user you shouldn't constantly need to restart in the first place.   Before this Vicare crap I had a very nice Nest thermostat. In 3 years of use I never had to restart anything. Hell I don't even know if it had a restart button. There just was no need for it since everything always worked as expected. ... Mehr anzeigen

Still not resolved. To summarize: - Bug was probably introduced around 16/12/2022 with the update to communication module v506.2244.4.0 - I reported this first 28/12 to Viessmann Belgium - I reported this 05/01 again here and to Viessmann Belgium.   We are now 13/01 and still no fix. So we have this very serious bug that has been ignored for 29 days so far by Viessmann. In professional software development you have code review, unit and integration testing, functional acceptance, then manual and automated testing. And lastly validation. Only then it goes out to the user.   How the hell did such a huge and obvious bug make it into production? I have the feeling the whole Vicare platform is developed by some intern who pushes his code straight to live.   And to add insult to injury: the bug has been there for several weeks now! That seems to be the trend among the big HVAC companies. Everyone is doing bad on the digital innovation front, so we can do bad as well! Just make sure the user can't switch to innovative startups in the IoT space by blocking open communication (e.g. OpenTherm) ... Mehr anzeigen

I, like many other other users here, can testify that the measured thermostat temperature is in many cases multiple degrees off from the actual room temperature. So when you speak about fancy algorithms...well they don't seem to do much.   This is understandable given the close proximity to the radiator. However what is not understandable is that this could not be mitigated by the user by simply setting an offset temperature in the app. Often times the offset will be more or less constant (excluding here thermostats that for example get heated variably by direct sunlight). So apart from the pursuit of profit I don't see any reason why this feature isn't available. ... Mehr anzeigen

Maybe most important. Why is this a payed option? This is pure consumer fraud.   Also what I don't understand is why this is happening on a Vitodens 300. This model should have a build flow sensor. It's able to sense when the flow drops too much (i.e. the thermostats close) and should therefore shut off the pump and burner.   I thought this problem was limited to the Vitodens 2xx which doesn't have this sensor. According to this you indeed have an E3-platform(OneBase) boiler.   In that case it's even more messed up than I thought and even the so called "new" OneBase/E3 platform is not entirely covered. ... Mehr anzeigen

Which boiler do you have? Is it one from the newer E3 series (OneBase)?   Knowing Viessmann well enough by now it probably is again a fragmented mess. They have the tendency to offer certain features only half of the time, for half of the products and half of the countries. ... Mehr anzeigen

There is an update for it. Well at least in Germany, not in Belgium.   It's called "intelligent heat control" but it is only available inside the payed subscription service Vicare Plus.   That right, let that sink in for a moment. This very expensive so called "smart" thermostat needs an additional monthly payed feature to stop it from short cycling all the time. ... Mehr anzeigen

Aber warum ist in der Software kein Offset möglich?   Für einen Thermostat, der regelmäßig Sonnenlicht erhält, verstehe ich die Nützlichkeit eines Klimasensors an einem anderen Ort. Why is there still no option to set a per-thermostat temperature offset in Vicare? As @Hella57 mentions for his situation it's always around 2°. There should be no need to buy an additional sensor to fix this. Every other competing system offers this option. Don't we already pay enough maybe? Does Viessmann think all those extra unnecessary batteries and electronics are good for the environment? ... Mehr anzeigen

Only that it’s mandatory if you want to improve incorrect temperature readings from the thermostats. Other manufacturers  almost always offer the option to set a user adjustable temperature offset to correct this. Viessmann doesn’t, because they get more profit from selling extra sensors. Especially in single thermostat rooms this adds unnecessary complexity, electronics, expenses and batteries.   But far worse is that both the Vitodens 2xx and Vicare Smart Climate system contain many fundamental design flaws and corner cutting. Which has been discussed at this forum in length. Without the correct or necessary steps from Viessmann to fix this. Even after a period off 2 years. ... Mehr anzeigen

@gil69roIt's the same story everywhere. I'm from Belgium and have similar complaints. It's not like we have a local Viessmann R&D department. Everything is off course set out and managed from within Viessmann HQ in Allendorf Germany.   But we are treated even worse then the German customers. All we get is "contact your local Viessmann department". Subsequently they can't or won't do anything. Their company moto should be "if you ignore a problem long enough it will surely dissapear".   I suggest submitting your complaint to your local government's and European union consumer complaint department. I did and based on my findings they will (rightfully!) investigate Viessmann for greenwashing. ... Mehr anzeigen

Viessmann decided not to support OpenTherm (or any open standards) any more for the Vitodens 2xx/3xx.They choose instead to vendor lock-in high paying customers to their own inferior and more expensive thermostat offering.   So it's impossible to have modulations controls via the Nest. In a full Vicare Smart Climate setup (i.e. electronic thermostats on all radiators or underfloor heating) the system should know perfectly when to activate the pump and when not.   This wasn't available for 2 years. And now that it is Viessmann chose to hide this functionality behind an extra payed option in "Vicare Plus". ... Mehr anzeigen
