VITODENS 300: is there an API for setting the date & time automatically?

Hi,

last week I had a situation where the date/time setting of my heating went completely wrong, something similar to Probleme mit Einstellungen und Verlaufsdaten seit ... - Viessmann Community (viessmann-community.com... which is also very recent.

It took me sometime to figure out that the reason for the cold water was the wrong date-time in my heating system. This was probably caused by a power out problem we had in the region 2 days before. The system is around 5 years old and had other power out cases in the past without loosing the date/time setting, but not this time. I manually entered the correct values in the touch panel and everything is working fine since then.

My question here to the community and Viessmann support:
is there a way in the API to (1) read the current date/time setting in the heating system (2) set a new date/time (3) synchronize it with an NTP server?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Ah - i was wrong about the heater generation. Yours is younger and this battery is really diffrent... 😉

Maybe this is also a smaller lithium - type, but i´m not absolutely sure.

Long time ago the API had at least „heating.device.time.offset“ but that was „optimized“ away due to deprecation (API changes)

ViGuide is able to display device date and time but I was not able to find out where the hell the UI got that data from. So there IS at least a possibility to get the date and time from the device even after the removal of heating.device.time. Sadly ViGuide was closed for normal people - Even the ViCare App can display current date and time from the device.

For any hint to get that info from one of the multiple API end points would be great. My device clock is running too fast, per month about +1 minute into the future, so I have to change the time every month with the „very intuitive“ display 😤 so it would be a GREAT idea to make that changeable via the API too.

@Viessmamm: make up your mind and offer that within the API, then you can also implement that into your ViCare App. Even if you won’t enable changing date and time via the API, at least make the data available for all so one can SEE if there‘s a time drift with Smarthome software so one can get notified if time drift is too large.

Or was that moved to the too expensive advanced tier data plan?

TIA!
