Hello,
I am contacting you directly at the head office because the official Viessmann customer support in Croatia has been unable to help me, and even my authorized local service technician failed to connect the device.
My Heating System Setup:
Boiler: Viessmann Vitodens 100-W B1KG-25 (3.2-25 kW) combi boiler.
Serial Number: 7988400... (I will provide the full SN via Private Message to the moderator)
Boiler Status: The boiler is connected to my home Wi-Fi and working perfectly. The installation was done strictly according to the manufacturer's instructions. It recently replaced an old atmospheric Vaillant boiler.
Gateway MAC address: B8:74:24... (I will provide the full MAC via Private Message to the moderator)
Existing Sensors: I have an outdoor temperature sensor connected to the boiler, which is online and working perfectly.
The Problem: ViCare Indoor Climate Sensor Deadlock
Initially, this indoor climate sensor was added to my ViCare application. However, it never worked correctly - the app constantly displayed a warning error with an exclamation mark, stating that the sensor was missing or not fully installed.
To fix this, I deleted the sensor from the app to try a fresh pairing. Since then, the device is completely deadlocked. The app successfully passes steps 1 and 2, but it always fails exactly on step 3/4 (Connecting) with an Error message.
Troubleshooting already performed:
I performed a full factory reset on the sensor multiple times (holding the button for 10+ seconds until it lights up solid red, then pressing it 5 times quickly).
The battery is brand new and stable at 3.2V.
I disabled all firewall restrictions on my router.
We even turned off the home router completely and tested the pairing via a Mobile Hotspot from another phone, but it still crashes exactly on step 3/4.
Questions Regarding System Optimization:
Question 1: Do I actually need this indoor climate sensor? Since my boiler already uses weather-compensated control via the functional outdoor temperature sensor, do I even need this indoor sensor for efficient system operation? If yes, how can I properly add it given this server-side deadlock?
Question 2: Can I switch to ViCare Smart Radiator Thermovals (TRVs) instead? If the indoor sensor is not strictly necessary, can I instead purchase and install ViCare Smart Radiator Valves on my radiators? My goal is to allow every radiator to individually control and temper the specific room we are in. Will these smart TRVs integrate directly with my Vitodens 100-W without needing the indoor climate sensor?
Thank you for your time, technical expertise, and assistance in resolving this matter.
p.s. I apologize for my bad English, Google Translate helped me.
Best regards,
