I have a 4 month old Vitocal 151-A connected to radiators and I'm controlling it with VI-Care. I live in Valencia so not really very cold but it does get down to 0c occasionally at night in the winter. The house is also open plan without much insulation but my supplier specified this machine for this house. I have the controller set to Reduced 14c and Normal 20c. The time program is Reduced until 5pm and then Normal until 10pm. I realised quickly that the water pump for the radiators runs all the time and its quite noisy. Is that normal? I have now used my home automation system to change the control to off during the Reduced times so it only actually runs for the 'Normal' time. I have two questions really; a) is it more efficient to leave it running the whole time? (it seems to use a lot of power that way, maybe 20kw/h a day). b) I haven't change the heat curve but when I did try to leave it on all the time even at night the house was at 18c when it should have been reduced. The instruction manual says there is no need for an internal thermostat but it doesn't seem to be working as it is.
