The Issue: During preventive system testing, I discovered that whenever OpenTherm communication is lost (thermostat power drop, processor crash, or disconnected cable), the boiler triggers Fault Code 95 - starts heating to 60°C and will not stop . Asking for Advice: Has anyone experienced the same issue, is there a setting for altering this behavior? The manual states the burner should turn OFF . Instead, the boiler ignites and continuously heats to 60°C indefinitely. It ignores normal controls and can only be stopped by cutting main power. Why this is dangerous: This is a brand new, fully functional boiler. Signal loss due to an external thermostat freeze or power drop must trigger a safe shutdown, not endless heating. Left unattended, this can severely overheat a building and waste massive energy. Current Status & Questions for Experts: I have already reached out to local Viessmann support and service technicians, but they are currently on holiday (and previously only suggested downgrading to a basic On/Off relay on Contact 96, which is unacceptable). While I wait for them, I need technical input: Is there a hidden parameter/setting to force the boiler to stay OFF during Fault 95? If this is a firmware bug, has anyone successfully escalated this to Viessmann engineering for a patch? Thanks MATTHEW
