Vitocal 100-s Hybrid experience

Hi,

As I am from Belgium, I will type this in English. (I can also use translate if needed)

Situation:

- House build in 1996, 200m2, heated with radiators (no floor heating), we use an old Buderus G205 oil burner.

- Isolation moderate: 4cm walls, 12cm roof, HR+ windows

- Oil consumption last 4 years: between 1500 and 1700 liters (including domestic hot water with 160 liter boiler)

- PV installation 5,4 kwp (will add 2kwp later this year), 10kwh battery, we have excess solar power

We have an offer to install a Vitocal 100-s 8kw heat pump with 300l domestic hot water boiler and 200 liter buffertank.

In hybrid operation with the old oil burner for the cold days.

We plan a renovation in maybe 5-7 years which will include floot heating in living area's.

Good to know: New installation of oil burners are not allowed anymore in Belgium, only gas installations.

Is it wise to install the hybrid heatpump with only radiators (we can have 50 degrees supply temperature)

Or will the consumption be very high?

Hello Pieterv,

the higher the flow temperatures, the worse the coefficient of performance of the heat pump and thus also the consumption. If possible, I would advise you to modify your system for the optimal operation of a heat pump.
